Large and small cells need a lot of chemical activities to perform their process. All the chemical reactions of cell occur in the cytoplasm. There are many small cytoplasmic bodies suspended in the cytoplasm. These are mitochondria, Golgi bodies, ribosomes, endoplasmic reticulum, etc. These are called cell organelles. This is the main feature that separates eukaryotic cells from prokaryotic cells.
